Boudin Bakery Cafe

San Francisco International Airport

Boudin Bakery Cafe - San Francisco International Airport

I wanted to like this place. The atmosphere in the store was nice and easy to navigate. The service was fine, but you don't really interact with any one until you get your order. You place your order at a kiosk and then wait for them to call you. This is also a place that asks if you'd like to tip. I'm all for tipping in many instances, but it felt weird here when you don't even talk to anyone until you get your food, say thanks, and leave.

I'm also leaving a lower review because this may have been the toughest sandwich I have ever eaten. I got the sourdough roll because I generally prefer sourdough over regular bread However this particular sourdough was incredibly difficult to bite into and chew. I was wondering if it's part of a new diet to slow you down and exercise your jaw. The meat and vegetables were very fresh and good, but they were hard to enjoy due to the bread.

Overall, for the price, they charge plus fees I would not recommend this place when at the airport. The overall quality of a sandwich and lack of personal service are not worth the price you pay here.
