Brigantine Restaurant, San Diego, California

We overall enjoyed our time dining here. We enjoyed sitting outside on the upper deck. Our server was really great and very personable! The food however was just ok. We came here because we wanted to have a seafood dinner. We started with Calamari, and it was just ok - nothing special about it. I got the Swordfish, and it was overall pretty good. it was a nice thick cut and was served well. My husband got the Crab Stuffed Prawns and those were borderline inedible. The bacon wrapped around it was overpowering with whatever they season it with. It was so powerful that even when taking it off to eat the prawns underneath it was still too strong. You couldn't escape the overpowering flavoring on the bacon.

When we were done with our main course our waiter surprised us with a Mud Pie to celebrate our trip to San Diego! That was a fun surprise, and we really appreciated his thoughtfulness! His great service and friendliness and the atmosphere here definitely helped to make up for a lackluster meal. I think it is overall worth a visit if you find yourself in the area. The service and atmosphere are great, and everyone's taste buds are different, so you may enjoy the food more than we did. Cheers!
