Mendocino Head Lands State Park - Point Mendocino Trail - Mendocino, California

We came out here for the views after taking a meal break from driving on the Pacific Coast Highway. It was a quite time on a Wednesday Morning so it was very quite and easy to get around and see what we wanted to see. The views were very stunning! We saw a pair of seagulls nesting and a lone sea lion swimming in the water! We also hear birds singing around us! There were also some pretty wildflowers around adding to the beauty. I really love this place and definitely recommend a stop here is you find yourself in the area!

Notes from my Google Review:

  • I believe leashed dogs are welcome in the parking area and perhaps other area if they are on a leash. However, I personally wouldn't recommend bringing a dog on the trails. The trails area very narrow in some areas and because of the risk of falling of the trail into the rocky coast. That would be devastating.

  • I don't recall seeing any picnic tables in this area of the park. However, it would still be a great spot to eat in your vehicle and take in the views!

  • I did not see any place to go to the bathroom here.

  • There is not a playground here.
