North Carolina
We didn’t spend a lot of time in North Carolina, but we did enjoy what little time we did have. Our destination was Myrtle Beach, but we chose to fly into Charlotte International Airport because the tickets were much cheaper and for the fun of the experience of a state we hadn’t been to yet. I’m glad we did! We found Charlotte International Airport to be very nice! We smoothly got off our flight and made our way to our rental car and off to our adventure!
Because we were quite hungry we decided to find something for lunch first. We wanted to sit down somewhere, but also wanted something quick. We also always prefer something local and not a national chain. We found Luigi’s and Really enjoyed it!
Now with our bellies full we were ready to explore! We had heard about this cool sculpture and really wanted to check it out before leaving the city. We made our way over to the office district where Metalmorphosis is located. The whole area is quite charming! It is very well landscaped and maintained! The roads are made of pavers which really add to the aesthetic! The sculpture itself sits in the middle of a water fountain. It is pleasant to listen to as well as view! It is the perfect spot for a quick veiw of some very unique art! I highly recommend checking it out if you are in the area!
After Metalmorphosis we made our way through the state down to Myrtle Beach. We took the smaller back roads as opposed to the main highways to get more of a feel for the country charm! We enjoyed all the sights, sounds and smells along the way! It was a beautiful spring day, so we drove with the windows down to take it all in! We stopped at got out of the car along on road to enjoy it a little longer! Listening to the birds singing in the forest was wonderful! We very much enjoyed our drive through the back country roads of North Carolina!
